Paris 2024: Olympic and Paralympic Games Venue Revealed at Arena Champ-de-Mars

The Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to September 8, 2024. For several weeks, the capital will pulsate to the rhythm of a series of sporting competitions that will take place in a series of ephemeral venues, including the Arena Champ-de-Mars, located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower in place of the Grand Palais Éphémère.

If you are an art lover, you will surely know the Grand Palais Ephemeral. Open since June 12, 2021 in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, this imposing 10,000 m² temporary building was designed and built to compensate for the closure of the Grand Palais for works, but also and above all in preparation for the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. Designed by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmottethe wooden structure of the Arena integrates perfectly into the urban landscape.

From July 26 to September 8, 2024, the Grand Palais Ephemeral will transform into theArena Champ-de-Marsa prestigious Olympic venue at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, where the Eiffel Tower Stadium will also be located.

Throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, sport will be in the spotlight.Arena Champ-de-Mars. The program? Judo e For judobeyond freestyle wrestling e wheelchair rugby.

The building will be dismantled in the fall of 2024. The Paris Olympics website states that the structure “can be reused in a variety of configurations, at another location yet to be determined “.

How do you get to the Arena Champ-de-Mars?

To reach theArena Champ-de-Mars this summer, take metro line 6 or 8 and get off at the “La Motte-Picquet – Grenelle” station. It is another 400 meters on foot to reach the site. Alternatively, you can get off at the Ségur station on metro line 10. From there, however, it is another 800 meters on foot to the site.
