Paris 2024 Olympics: Dad and caregiver, who is Dany Dann, the first Olympic B-Boy?

When breaking entered the Olympic program in February 2019, Danis Civil (who goes by Dany Dann) had already made a name for himself in international battles. He discovered breaking by chance one summer day in 2003 in Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, French Guiana, where his cousin was participating. Danis took a look into the culture room, whose doors had remained open, and was stunned. “I liked the acrobatic, artistic side and the fact that breaking was accessible to everyone, regardless of their social background,” says the seventh child of eight brothers and sisters.
