Paris 2024 Olympics: where and at what time to see the flame in Seine-Maritime and Le Havre? The route on July 5

Three weeks before the opening ceremony, the Olympic flame continues its journey across France. This Friday, July 5, Seine-Maritime will host the 49th stage, 24 hours after the flame passed through Somme and Amiens. If you want to attend this founding moment of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, here are the places to go.

The first of the 104 bearers will set off at 08:19 from Rouen where the flame will cross the Seine, passing in front of the city’s Cathedral, to end on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville at 09:38. It will then move to Jumièges at 10:24 for twenty minutes. The relay will then run along the port of Dieppe from 11:31 to 12:30. The procession will then continue to the Château de Mirville at 12:54 and will remain there until 13:24. Then head to Yvetot, with a departure from the Albert-Camus college at 15:16 until arriving at the town hall at 15:54. In the afternoon, the flame will be able to enjoy the promenade of Étretat which it will begin at 16:14 to conclude it with a magnificent view from the Aval cliff.

And it will already be time for celebrations with the lighting of the cauldron in the city of Le Havre. The progression through the city will begin at 5:41 p.m. from the sub-prefecture. After crossing the town hall square, the flame will run along the marina, the true gateway to Normandy and the city of Le Havre. The torchbearers will begin a collective relay organized by the badminton federation on the George V quay and end on the Nelson Mandela esplanade at 7:20 p.m.

A true hotbed of French badminton since the 1950s, the city of Edouard Philippe will have badminton player Christelle Mol as its torch relay captain. She notably took part in the first badminton competition at the Olympic Games in 1992 in Barcelona. The former sportswoman will be accompanied by other athletes from Le Havre such as skipper Charlie Dalin, swimmer Hugues Duboscq and boxer Alfousseynou Kamara.
