Paul Pogba Determined to Overcome Doping Suspension and Return to Football With Juventus

On the sidelines of France-Belgium (1-0) on Monday, the French team midfielder, Paul Pogba, currently suspended for doping, confirmed that his ambitions to return to full-time football remained intact. He recalled that he was still under contract with Juventus, and regretted the silence of his club.

Paul Pogba was back on the pitch, or almost, on Monday to support the Blues during their round of 16 match at the Euro. On the sidelines of the match between France and Belgium (1-0), the French midfielder spoke about his future, uncertain since the outbreak of the extra-sporting and doping affairs in which he is involved.

“Pogba is not finished, Pogba is here. I have an incredible desire to come back, I feel like a child who wants to become a professional, I train, I do everything I can to get back on the pitch,” he hammered to Sky Sport.

“Last news is I’m still a Juve player”

Under contract with Juventus Turin until June 2026, “La Pioche” intends to get rid of the accusations weighing on him in order to become a footballer again as quickly as possible.

“I still feel like a footballer. I want to fight this injustice, for me,” Pogba continued. “The latest news is that I am still a Juve player, I have a contract but I have not had the opportunity to speak to the president and the coach… It is silence. I think they are waiting for the outcome of the appeal, but you have to ask them.”

The French international (31 years old, 91 caps, 11 goals) tested positive for testosterone in August 2023 after the match between Juventus Turin and Udinese. He was suspended from competition for four years, but decided to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
