Portugal eliminates Slovenia and will face France in the quarter-finals

Portugal will play in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. Facing Slovenia in the round of 16 on Monday 1 July in Frankfurt, the Portuguese won on penalties, the two teams having been unable to separate during the 90 minutes of regulation time and then in extra time (0-0, 3 penalties to 0). Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty in the 105th minute but did not tremble during the fateful session against goalkeeper Jan Oblak. The Slovenians were unfortunate since they saw their three penalty shots saved by goalkeeper Diogo Costa. In the quarter-finals, the Seleçao will face the French team on 5 July in Hamburg.
