Persib Bandung will face PSM Makassar in the opening match of the 2024 President’s Cup. Maung Bandung coach Bojan Hodak said his team’s preparations were not ideal.
Bojan Hodak revealed that his team faced tight preparation constraints. However, he ensured that Persib would try to show their best game in this tournament.
There are also other obstacles; several players are still doubtful for the first match. Dedi Kusnandar has just completed his Hajj pilgrimage, while Tyrone del Pino has just joined on loan from a Thai club.
“Looking ahead to the first match tomorrow, we are not ready, but we are happy that the players are starting to come in turns and we will become more mature,” said Hodak when giving a statement, Thursday (18/7/2024).
“We are preparing for League 1 and ACL 2. With this tournament we will be more prepared for League 1 and ACL (AFC Champions League) 2 matches,” he added.
Midfielder Football Marc Klok confirmed that he is ready to show his best game in the 2024 President’s Cup. His team’s main target in this tournament is to restore fitness after the end of the competition break.
Persib Bandung scheduled meeting PSM in the first match of Group A. This match will be held at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, Friday, July 19, 2024, at 15.30, WIB.
“This is pre-season. But I know, everyone here wants us to win, the target is to be champions again. But we have to be realistic because we have just started training, as Coach (Bojan Hodak) said, this is an opportunity to get back to fitness,” said Klok.
“Of course we want to win, this is a pre-season tournament. Our target is in League 1 and AFC Champions League Two. We are happy to be back competing and this tournament is very good for us,” he said.
