President of Colombian Football Federation and Son Arrested for Fighting at Copa América Final

The president of the Colombian Football Federation (FCF), Ramón Jesurún, and his son Ramón Jamil were arrested by Miami police for fighting with security personnel at Hard Rock Stadium during the Copa América final, according to reports on Monday afternoon.

The head of Colombian football and his son struggled at length with the stadium’s private security for reasons that are still unknown and even exchanged punches, as seen in a video that quickly circulated on social media. All this with children involved.

It is worth remembering that the World Cup final was shaping up to be a scandal when the US organisation and security failed again when the spectators entered the stadium. Various incidents occurred and scenes of despair lasted for almost an hour, which forced the start of the match to be delayed, and it also threatened not to take place.

Jesurún, 71, and his son, 43, were arrested after an incident in an elevator at the stadium on their way to the awards ceremony, which raised eyebrows as they were absent from the ceremony when their compatriots were being awarded the medals. Both face minor charges and must appear in Miami-Dade bail court.
