Everything you need to know about the race and its side events with the eleventh stage of the Tour de France between Évaux-les-Bains and Le Lioran.
The stage profile: Évaux-les-Bains – Le Lioran (211 km)
The peloton returns to the mountains with more than 4,300 m of elevation gain on the program. For the only stage in the Massif Central, the riders will have a lot to do in the last 50 km with a series of climbs, which could cause damage to the favorites for the final podium. After swallowing up the climbs of the Col de Néronne and that of Puy Mary Pas de Peyrol, the leaders will have to tackle the Col de Pertus, the Col de Font de Cère before playing for victory on the slopes leading to Lioran. The climbers, candidates for a stage victory, will have an opportunity to raise their arms.

The fictitious departure will be given at 11:20 a.m. from Évaux-les-Bains for an arrival scheduled between 4:54 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. at Lioran.
How to watch the Tour de France on TV?

Not to be missed on the course
The Saint-Pierre church in Messeix will be one of the historical monuments to visit on the route of this 11th stage. Built in the centre of the small town of Puy-de-Dôme, the building has been listed as a historical monument since 1916. In the last century, the town of Messeix was home to coal mines before the end of mining activity in 1988. A museum in the town traces the history of this mining basin.

Today’s prediction
The adventurers will have a card to play for this first arrival at the summit. With a tough menu, but not demanding enough to make a big difference in the climbs, profiles like Ben Healy or Santiago Buitrago could stand out. In the peloton, Remco Evenepoel and Tadej Pogacar showed that they had good legs in the first week to win at Lioran.
Expression of the day: “Dancer”
This expression corresponds to the position adopted by a rider by standing on his pedals to give power, in particular, on climbs. Several champions have adopted this style, like the Spaniard Alberto Contador. A position that was not favored by Christopher Froome, known for his attacks with his buttocks screwed to the saddle.
