Everything you need to know about the race and its side effects with the third stage of the Tour de France between Plaisance and Turin.
The stage profile: Piacenza-Turin (230.8 km)
After two hilly first days, the sprinters will find their smiles again on the roads of Piedmont with a flat course which will suit the sprinters. This first explanation between the fastest riders in the peloton should not escape them, because there are no difficulties between Plaisance and Turin with the exception of three 4th category climbs.

The start will be at 11:15 from Piacenza. The end of the stage is scheduled between 17:00 and 17:30 in Turin.

The broadcast will begin on France 2 until 1 p.m. where we will switch to France 3 until 3 p.m. Return to France 2 for the end of the stage and the post-race until 7 p.m. You can also follow the entire race on Eurosport or with live commentary on Le Figaro.fr.

The peloton will cross the town of Tortona, training ground for Fausto Coppi, double winner of the Tour de France. Little Rome has a great history with cycling being one of the cities crossed by the legendary Milan-San Remo classic, but above all it is intimately linked to the life of Coppi. The five-time winner of the Giro used to train on the heights of Tortona, a town not far from the birthplace of the transalpine champion in Castellania Coppi. But beyond Tortona, this 3rd stage of the Grande Boucle will pay tribute to the campionissimo throughout the route with the arrival in Turin, scene of the fatal fall of Serse at the Tour of Piedmont in 1951, the brother of Fausto Coppi .

The stage could go to a Belgian. Belgian champion, Arnaud de Lie has the legs to win in his first Tour de France. But pay attention to the experience of Wout van Aert who would be well inspired to take off a stage before the Alps while Jasper Philipsen, winner of four stages last year, intends to do it again in Turin. A Belgian victory which would attenuate the «same» Belgian before the victory, hopefully, of the Blues against Belgium at the Euro.
