PSG: Kimpembe already there, Asensio and Kang-in Lee expected Tuesday… Paris resumed in scattered order

A few steps from the entrance to the PSG Campus, far from the dozen or so supporters present at the entrance to the training center, Wassim has settled in. Since 7 o’clock this Monday morning, the young 13-year-old teenager has been sitting on his stool with his Achraf Hakimi jersey in the hope that one of the PSG players who returned for the restart will sign a photo for him. He only wants a signature, not even a selfie since he didn’t take his phone. If he had to choose a player, he would like Marco Asensio to be the lucky one. It won’t be.

A little further up in front of the gates, a few fans have been there since 8 am and are hoping that players will stop to greet them. They won’t see any stars since the main starters involved in the Euro or the Copa America are now enjoying their three weeks of vacation. The first to pass in front of them is Ilyes Housni. Aboard his Clio, the striker who is returning from a complicated loan to Qatar goes through the gates to go for medical examinations and stress tests. In recent days, the young titi has been training on his own by doing individual preparation in Monaco.

In the process, other players trained at the club followed closely: Noha Lemina, back from a loan at Wolverhampton, first, then Ismaël Gharbi and Louis Mouquet. Before 9:30, Colin Dagba and Renato Sanches followed in their footsteps. A group of players who strongly resembled that of the undesirables even if a little less than an hour and a half later, the Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, PSG’s first summer recruit, crossed the gates in a van with tinted windows.

Tests at the American Hospital of Neuilly

Twenty minutes later, it was Presnel Kimpembe’s turn to arrive in a German-branded sedan. After having partially resumed with the professional group in May, the French international continued his recovery protocol throughout June. Logically, he therefore had a few extra days of rest but preferred to anticipate his return.

Inside, the staff is present to welcome the players. On the program, a morning of efforts and fairly extensive physical tests. The first leave the enclosure shortly before 1 p.m. Another group, which also included Nordi Mukiele, was indeed present at the American hospital in Neuilly for a battery of medical examinations before going to the PSG Campus on Tuesday. Kang-in Lee, Carlos Soler and Marco Asensio are entitled to an additional day of vacation.

From Wednesday, everyone will be together for a first physical session with balls. They will double the training on Thursday and Saturday. No friendly matches are planned for July. The Parisians have two meetings in August: 7 in Klagenfurt (Austria) to challenge Sturm Graz then on the 10th in Germany to face RB Leipzig. The main elements of the group will have resumed only a few days ago.
