PSG legend Rai before the legislative elections: “The extreme right is the end of human rights”

The mobilization continues in Paris to block the National Rally. This Wednesday evening, a new demonstration was held on the Place de la République, with the intervention of many personalities such as Juliette Armanet, Josiane Balasko, Judith Godrèche, Anne Roumanoff and Rai. And the Paris Saint-Germain legend did not mince his words when he went on stage and delivered a vibrant speech.

“Long live France, long live the Republic, long live democracy,” he said to begin his monologue, applauded by the crowd. “You are the hope, our hope. I know the far right well. What they do best is lie. I knew them in power. The far right is the end of the world, it is the end of human rights, of humanity. In Brazil, we lived a nightmare. Four years of misogyny, four years of homophobia, of prejudice, thousands of deaths, deforestation. The far right is hatred. If we want to change our reality, our purchasing power, our life, let’s change with a strategy, a project, a new policy, but our fundamental values must never change.”

Encouraged by the cheers of the crowd, the former Brazilian international continued for nearly three minutes. “Where they want hatred, let’s win with passion and love. Where they want repression, let’s resist with freedom. Where they want censorship, lies, ignorance, let’s attack with science, mobilization, the arts, music, theater, dance… To arms citizens! This is France, this is Paris, this is Africa, this is all the colors, this is democracy. Go vote my French friends, go convince your friends, your family to vote, for France, humanity, the planet, the human race. We are counting on you, the fight continues.”
