Pueyrredón is gearing up to be a protagonist in the local Second Division basketball tournament, trying to quickly regain the category it has just lost.

The management has placed their trust in Andrés Iannamico as coach, which will mean his return to activity after having resigned from Pacífico halfway through the previous First Division tournament.

“I missed basketball a lot,” the coach confessed in “El Diario Deportivo,” which is broadcast Monday through Friday, from 2 to 3 p.m., on La Nueva Play.

He also admitted that his team is already included, while the final stages are being put together, among those who should fight for promotion.

“I know that we have the name of a candidate, but I think that after that we have to form a competitive team, one that is prepared to play for important things,” he said.

The latest addition was the experienced Lucas Lucchetti.

“Lucas has a lot of playoffs under his belt. And that’s what I was looking for, especially in that position, where decisions are made about how to play. I insisted a lot for him to come,” he said.
