Quimper Players Shine at Ploemeur Summer Feather Tournament to End Season in Style

The two Quimper players, Léa Bégat and Simon Manéo, had a flawless run during the Ploemeur Summer Feather Tournament, thus ending the 2023/24 season in style. Simon Manéo has won a third consecutive victory in three weeks, confirming his great form. After the mixed doubles R with Léa Bégat in Lanester and the men’s doubles in Concarneau alongside Fabien Porchet, he won in SH R in Ploemeur. A great reward for the player who has been getting back into the swing of things with the three disciplines since April. He did not lose a set and defeated the number 1 seed in the group and final.

Léa Bégat won the mixed doubles R teamed up with Quimper’s Yan-Aël Yvonnou (currently living in Lille for her studies). A flawless run and a comeback in the deciding set of the final after being down 4-11. She and her partner found the resources to offer their best badminton in this decisive moment. The player is gaining confidence and is increasingly enjoying playing mixed, which is promising for next season and the first team’s goal.

These results confirm the potential and determination of the Ujapistes. A case to follow next season with the returns of Tino Daoudal and Martin Biger. Two players will also strengthen the senior women’s squad.
