Remco Evenepoel’s reaction (2nd in the 4th stage and wearing the white jersey for best young rider in the Tour de France) to France TV: “I had good legs. It was a good day for me and the team. Tadej’s (Pogacar) attack was quite severe. When he attacks, it’s always explosive. I tried to follow him, but I didn’t have the same power as him, nor Jonas (Vingegaard) for that matter. Tadej was clearly the strongest today.
I took risks on the descent to try to get back to Jonas (Vingegaard) and I almost paid cash for it, since I slipped two or three times. I still got back to him with Rodriguez, Roglic and Ayuso. I finished with a good sprint to take 2nd place today and overall.”
