Content

In this episode, find Fabrice Meuniera Paralympic athlete who participated in the Beijing Games in 2008. A look back at his Paralympic podium and the memories that left their mark on him.

JR: Fabrice, can you first introduce yourself and tell us which edition of the Paralympic Games you participated in?

FM : Hello, my name is Fabrice Meunier, I am 51 years old. I participated in the Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and I brought back a very very beautiful silver medal from there.

JR: What do the Games represent for you?

FM : The Games are about making it happen, it’s a lot of work. As I say, the hardest part is getting there. Once you’re there, it’s like a highway, you have to take the handbrake off and enjoy it to the fullest. You have to be proud of who you are, proud to be French, proud to wear your name, with “France” on your back and then say to yourself “we’re the boss”.

JR: How have these Paralympic Games changed your life?

FM : It’s quite a symbol, especially for my family because it’s a lot of sacrifices and a lot of time spent on the field. When you do the Games and you also have the chance to bring home a medal with the work accomplished, it’s quite a symbol for yourself, for your pride, for the club and especially for your family. It’s a family medal, that’s how I see it.
