Gaetano has been an institution of Italian basketball for years, having dedicated his entire life to the movement: first as a player, with Virtus Ragusa, and then starting his career on the bench in 1979. His most important experience as a coach with Purple Reggio Calabriawhich he guided with sagacity and with which he launched great stars of Italian and world basketball. In the National team, a long career as a coach in the Youth teams with a silver (1997) and a bronze (2001).
Gebbia also worked as a guide for all the new coaches, collaborating with the Youth Sector and with the Cna for the training courses programs for coaches, and with his roles at the academic level in the training field. A great person and a great basketball man has passed away, who has always offered all his experience and passion to the movement, unconditional and driven by a great love for the game: to Gaetano all Italian basketball will always be grateful and thankful.
