After the bronze medal at the National University Championships in Campobasso, an almost double success twelve months after the silver medal won in Camerino (MC), judoka Riccardo Verdecchia will be the protagonist at the European University Championships. A well-deserved award for the athlete who competes in the CNU for Cus Macerata as a Law student at UniMc, but who trains and is registered with the Judo Club Sakura Osimo.
Even more so since Verdecchia also added a very good 5th place at the Fijlkam A1 Italian Absolute Championship in Jesolo, again in his -60kg category.
Riccardo, in addition to being a university student, works two jobs but still manages to train every day for two hours and it is this determination that has brought him so high.
For him, therefore, the competitive season is not over yet. Thanks to the interest of the Cus Macerata Master, as well as the new vice president of the sports club, Laura Moretti and thanks to Tiziana Lazzari, from July 11th Riccardo will be involved in the EUSA (European University Sports Association). In Hungary he will join the Cus Bologna group to compete and prove himself in this prestigious tournament.
