Rio de Janeiro’s path to the Brazilian Under-18 Judo Championship for mixed teams began with a victory over Pará (5-0). Then, Espírito Santo lost to Cariocas by the same score. In the semifinals, the local team defeated Rio Grande do Norte (5-1). On the other hand, São Paulo defeated Paraná (5 to 3), Rio Grande do Sul (5 to 1) and Mato Grosso (5 to 0) to reach the final of the tournament.
