Enough to bring back some memories in the ranks of the Villars Basket leaders. On March 25, 2018, the club was tasked with organizing the regional final of the Benjamin challenge, bringing together the best young people (boys and girls in the U13 category) in the League. On the field and during the individual technical courses, we saw the young people of the Chorale de Roanne shine. But among those selected by the Rhône committee, the young Zaccharie Risacher also stood out by winning the 3×3 event with his teammates.

“I especially remember meeting and greeting his father, Stéphane, at the entrance to the gym. For people of my generation, he was someone very well-known. He was French and international champion and even Olympic vice-champion in Sydney in 2000,” recalls Pierre Thiolière, former manager of the local club and then vice-president of the Loire basketball committee. And to emphasize: “Many other clubs will be able to say it, because he played in particular in the U13 region in our geographical area. But in any case, we are proud to mention this anecdote. Zaccharie Risacher played in our Bernichon gym.” And from the start of the school year, he will tread the courts of the NBA.
