Miguel Borja and Franco Armani will not be in River’s match against Lanús, next Sunday, in the return leg of the Professional League. The club decided to release them after both played in the final of the Copa América, in which the Argentine National Team was crowned champion, and they will miss the duel against Granate.

Borja arrived with some of the Colombian players to his country in the early hours of Monday and was also released by the Colombian Football Federation. Armani, for his part, was one of those who returned on the plane that brought the Argentine national team players from Miami.

Although the goalkeeper did not play in the tournament and the Colombian forward barely played 26 minutes throughout the tournament, River’s coaching staff decided to give them three days of vacation due to the large number of matches River has ahead of them.
Thus, the Millionaires would face Lanús without two of their great stars. The possible replacement for Borja could be Adam Bareiro or Facundo Colidio leaving his place on the wing to become a center forward. Meanwhile, Jeremías Ledesma, a new signing, could debut in the goal for the Millionaires instead of El Pulpo.

Martín Demichelis’ team will compete again on July 21, when they host Lanús for the sixth date of the Professional League, however all eyes are on the round of 16 match of the Copa Libertadores, where they will face Talleres de Córdoba on August 14 for the first leg and on the 21st for the second leg.
