Rocha boasts of support in Spanish football just days before his possible disqualification

Pedro Rocha and his closest team have a clear communication strategy in view of his possible disqualification by the TAD as President of the RFEFIf he ends up falling, which remains to be seen and will be decided, at least in the first instance, this month, he will be demonstrating that he has the support of the main football institutions: FIFA and UEFA at international level and LaLiga and Liga F at national level.

And the presidents of these last two institutions, Javier Tebas and Beatriz Alvarezrespectively, are willing to help him in this task. Mainly, because after years of wars without quarter with Luis Rubiales, they have finally found in the RFEF an interlocutor who puts understanding before conflict. And that is no small feat.

In this context, this Tuesday the RFEF hosted a meeting of the coordination committee created a month and a half ago by the three institutions, with the presence of the presidents of the autonomous federations. A meeting that the two leagues and the Federation have given an account of through an identical statement.

The meeting statement

Spanish football works together in a climate of absolute cordiality and cooperationwhich is allowing this sport to advance in an effective, efficient and responsible manner. The institutional strength of this sport is confirmed by the excellent sporting results, embodied today in the matches that the Spanish team is playing in this Euro Cup,” explains the text, which in the case of the F League also highlights “the achievements of the women’s team.”

The three institutions also agree that “the message of unity and collaboration of these main actors in this sport has been clear and has allowed us to visualize, once again, how The RFEF is in a new stage of stability and developmentin the best possible climate for football in this country.”

Ceferin’s hug

Phrases that show the total support that Rocha enjoys from Tebas, who has already come out on several occasions in his defense, as well as from Álvarez. And that comes days after Alexander Ceferin, UEFA president, embraced him in the front row of the box for the Spain-Georgia game, right next to the Minister of Education and Sport, Pilar Alegria.

All this in a context in which Rocha is running out of time to present the allegations he considers appropriate to the proposal for disqualification made by the instructor of his file in the TAD. In that text, two years of disqualification is proposed for three very serious offences for “abuse of authority” while he was president of the management company.

The reasons for possible disqualification

These three violations would result in the dismissal of the general secretary Andrew Fields; the termination of the contract with GC Legal, the law firm Thomas Gonzalez CuetoRubiales’ right-hand man and accused in the Super Cup case; and the RFEF’s involvement in this same case, in which Rocha himself is also listed as being investigated and in which the judge has continued to conduct proceedings today.

Once the allegations have been presented, foreseeably during this week, The TAD will decide whether or not to disqualify Rocha and for how long. A decision that could come with the Euro Cup still in play (although it does not seem that way) and that, in any case, would be subject to possible appeals before the ordinary courts.

“I do not know what interests are behind this file, whose arguments do not respond to common sense, nor to the law, but rather to a political intention to intervene in a Federation that is pacifiedstabilized and immersed in a European Championship and in the organization of a World Cup,” Rocha said a few days ago, in an interview with Prensa Ibérica, regarding the proposal to disqualify him.
