Rookie Dalton Knecht Chooses Kevin Durant Over LeBron James as Best NBA Player in History, Causes Stir on Social Media

The Los Angeles Lakers selected guard Dalton Knecht out of Tennessee with the 17th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and he is expected to make a huge impact in the league. However, he caused a stir on social media as he chose Kevin Durant over LeBron James in the discussion of the best player in history.

In a dynamic with Slam Online, in which he answered random questions quickly, he did not hesitate for a second to choose Durant over his new teammate, LeBron James.

Knecht won the 2023-24 SEC Player of the Year award, helping Tennessee to its first conference regular-season title since 2018 and propelling his club to just its second Elite Eight in school history.

His game is similar to Durant’s in terms of his height and his ability to shoot from mid- and long-range. He is a shooter and his characteristics are more similar to Durant’s than to James’s.
