Saint-Palais-sur-Mer Tennis Club Introduces Indoor Padel and Pickleball Courts Ahead of Open 17 Tournament

While waiting for the Open 17, an international women’s tennis tournament that will take place from September 1 to 8, the Saint-Palais-sur-Mer tennis club has just acquired an indoor padel court and pickleball court. Padel, which is booming across the country and in the Pays Royannais, is now coming to Saint-Palais-sur-Mer. Pickleball, a racket sport combining elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, is less well-known but is growing in popularity. It is played with a racket and a perforated plastic ball on a badminton court above a slightly modified tennis net. To introduce these activities, the Saint-Palaisian club is organizing open days on Saturday July 6 and Sunday July 7. The courts will be freely accessible and free for the entire weekend, so that everyone can discover and try these new sports.
