Santos agreed, this Tuesday, to sell another “Menino da Vila” to European football. It is the left back Lucas Pires, just 23 years old, who will defend Burnley, in England next season.
According to information from The Athletic, the Clarets, recently relegated to the Championship, agreed to pay around 2.5 million euros, approximately R$15.2 million, for the deal.
Having played in the youth teams at Corinthians, Lucas Pires arrived at Santos in 2020 and only made his debut for Peixe’s first team in 2022. In August last year, the full-back was loaned to Cádiz, in Spain, where he played 30 games, 16 as a starter, and scored one goal.
