São Paulo’s Tricolor Triumph: Praise from Press Professional for Victory Over Furacão

Em livea press professional analyzed Tricolor’s victory over Furacão and filled the performance with praise

The victory of the São Paulo over the Athletico PRlast Wednesday (3), did not end brilliantly and even had moments of tension in the final stretch. Even so, fans and the press seem to be satisfied with the performance.

The game had, in a way, mirrored periods: in the first half, the tricolor dominated and a goal scored by Furacão. In the second half, the home team changed their stance, but made a fatal error that gave the lead back to the visitors. Ferreira e Jonathan Calleri scored for the São Paulo team, while Fernandinho scored the goal for the Paraná team.

With the triumph, Mais Querido will spend the night in the G-4 and will remain there if Bahia loses to Juventude this Thursday (4). Journalist Eduardo Tironi, from UOL and Band Sports, only had good things to say about the game and the team’s good phase.

Em live from the Arnaldo & Tironi channelwhich he leads together with his colleague Arnaldo Ribeiro, Tironi tirelessly praised São Paulo’s victory at Athletico-PR’s home.

“More than the result, it was a great game by São Paulo. The first half was excellent, they conceded a goal by chance. In the second half they were rewarded with a goal conceded by Athletico-PR, but it was a great game by São Paulo. A very, very good game,” said the journalist.

“Break Athletico-PR’s unbeaten run in this Brazilian Championship, which had not lost to anyone [em casa]. There is a lot of hard work to play on, synthetic grass and so on. Anyway, a great victory for Zubeldía’s São Paulo”, he added.

Furthermore, he reiterated that it was not a perfect night, largely due to the ‘inconsequence’ of some members of the team: “The problems are that Calleri got a card, the entire coaching staff got a card, Zubeldía was sent off again… but I thought it was a great game by São Paulo, an excellent match.”

Everything ok?

Tironi also expressed relief at seeing São Paulo back in the G-4 after beating – and overtaking – Athletico-PR in the Série A table.

“São Paulo is now where I feel most comfortable seeing them: among the top four. That’s where São Paulo is for me. Of course, the round could change, Bahia could win or whatever, but it’s a great result. It took Athletico-PR out of the game, they were right on top and now they’re behind,” he said.

Finally, he made a projection for the rest of the championship: “A great victory for São Paulo, it’s something to get excited about, to imagine that São Paulo can have a good Brazilian Championship – I don’t know if they’ll be champions, that’s not what I’m talking about. But a championship like the Brazilian Championship should be: fighting at the top, bothering the others.”

The return to the top of the table is, in fact, important. Not to mention that the gap to the leader Flamengo is (still) not great – just six points. But the question remains as to how things could be if at least one of the disappointing draws against Internacional and Corinthians had been victories. And, of course, if the defeats to Cuiabá and Vasco had not happened.

Even so, it is a competitive first round that leaves positive prospects for the second half of the year.
