A new wind of the 90s is going to blow over Seattle.

Les Seattle Seahawks ont announced this Wednesday that they would be wearing their “Throwback” uniform again this season. Reinvented last year, it largely takes up the design used by the franchise in the 1990s. The jersey is royal blue, the silver helmet sports the old Franchise logo, while the pants are the same silver color and are decorated with apple green piping. The jersey also features a nod to the Kingdomethe stadium where the Seahawks played from their inaugural season (1976). This old layout was also linked to this stadium, since it followed the team until 2002, when the team moved to the current Lumen Field.

The “Throwback” uniform was already worn twice last season. First in October against the Cleveland Browns during a 24-20 victory. Then a second time in November against the Cowboys during a spectacular 35-41 defeat. This season, the Seattle Seahawks players will wear it in primetime on Thursday, October 10. It will be during an electric Thursday Night Football against their division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers.

Alternate uniforms, a fashion in the NFL

Of many teams have succumbed to the trend of “Throwback” jerseys in recent years. Recently, the New York Giants made a “sensation” with a very original uniform celebrating their centennial. Others like the Minnesota Vikings are looking to play on originality with limited edition uniforms.
