Seongnam City Sports Council established student sports clubs in two sports: archery and badminton.
It appears that the inconvenience of students having to transfer to other regions because their high school did not have a corresponding sports team will disappear.

Badminton players belonging to the Seongnam City Hall Workplace Sports Club are busy providing one-on-one customized instruction to students.
These people who are sweating bullets are all badminton hopefuls from the Seongnam area.
[박희수 / 성남 판교고 2학년(배드민턴 선수) : 학교 끝나고 나서는 한 3~4시간 정도 하고요. 이제 이번에 방학을 하게 돼서 한 6시간 정도 운동을 계속하고 있습니다.]
During that time, there were no badminton clubs in high schools in the Seongnam area, so if you wanted to continue playing, you had to transfer to another region.
However, these concerns were alleviated when Seongnam City Sports Council established a student sports club.
The leaders provide systematic training support, and it is operated in the form of a club regardless of the school attended.
In addition to badminton, an archery team was also formed.

Seongnam City plans to support training and competition expenses, and this is the first time in the country that a local government is supporting student sports teams under its sports council.

Seongnam City has also decided to review a plan to expand student sports clubs in cooperation with the Seongnam City Hall Workplace Sports Club, which has 110 athletes in 10 sports including fencing, hockey, and boxing.
