Bola.net – Coach Indonesian National Team U-16Nova Arianto revealed the schedule for the return of the Indonesian National Team coach, Shin Tae-yong to Indonesia after vacationing in South Korea.
Shin Tae-yong has returned home to South Korea since June 14, 2024. He returned home after going through a series of busy agendas as the coach of the Indonesian National Team and the Indonesian U-23 National Team since the beginning of this year.
Shin Tae-yong led the Indonesian National Team in the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar in January-February 2024, the Indonesian U-23 National Team in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar in April-May 2024, and the Indonesian National Team in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian Zone in March and June 2024.
Shin Tae-yong has just extended his contract with the Indonesian National Team. He agreed to a three-year contract extension that will keep him until 2027.

Nova stated that Shin Tae-yong and the coach of the Indonesian U-19 National Team, Indra Sjafri, could not watch the performance of the Indonesian U-16 National Team in the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup.
Nova said Indra Sjafri was leading the Indonesian U-19 National Team training camp (TC) in Jakarta. Meanwhile, Shin Tae-yong is still in South Korea.
The Indonesian U-16 national team will face Vietnam in the fight for third place in the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup. The match will be held on Wednesday (3/7) afternoon WIB at the Manahan Stadium, Solo.
“Coach Indra Sjafri has a TC with the Indonesian U-19 National Team in Jakarta if coach Shin Tae-yong only comes to Indonesia on July 21, 2024, so it is likely that the two coaches will not be able to come to Solo,” Nova told reporters.
Before becoming the coach of the Indonesian U-16 National Team, Nova was Shin Tae-yong’s right-hand man. Nova has served as Shin Tae-yong’s assistant since early 2020.
After returning to Indonesia, Shin Tae-yong will prepare the Indonesian National Team for the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers for the Asian Zone which will be held on September 5-10, 2024.
