Rain capes instead of T-shirts: The onset of rainfall caused play to be interrupted at the tennis classic in Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Shortly after 1pm CEST, the grass courts were covered with tarpaulins and the players withdrew for the time being. Only the Centre Court and No. 1 Court on the Church Road site have roofs.

Laura Siegemund was also affected by the interruption. The Swabian had slipped and fallen in the first set of her match against the Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl on an increasingly slippery surface.

Siegemund slips and complains

Siegemund complained to the referee that she had not stopped the match earlier. However, she was able to continue playing unhindered until the rain break.
