Six French in the third round of Wimbledon, record equaled

The British Grand Slam has not seen such a French contingent at this stage of the competition since 2010. Six French players – a record equalled – will participate in the third round of Wimbledon which begins this Friday. They are Ugo Humbert (16th), Gaël Monfils (33rd in the world), Arthur Fils (34th), Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (58th), Quentin Halys (220th) and Lucas Pouille (212th).

Humbert and Monfils will be the first on the track since they face respectively, on Friday, the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (10th) and the American Brandon Nakashima (live to follow on our site). Their predecessors, in 2010, were called Arnaud Clément, Julien Benneteau, Jérémy Chardy, Paul-Henri Mathieu, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gaël Monfils.
