Sixth Annual Beursault 24-Hour Challenge Draws Archers from Across Regions

From Saturday 29th, at 3pm, to Sunday 30th June at 3pm, the sixth edition of the Beursault 24-hour challenge took place at the Jardin d’Arc, organized by the 1st Archery Company of Eclaron. With the presence of 33 shooters from Champagne, Lorraine and the Paris region who shot non-stop for 24 hours. The archery club, chaired by Jacky Soudant, worked with a dozen volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the event.

“It’s a unique competition in France,” said Jacky Soudant. Indeed, for 24 hours, each team of three had to present an archer on the shooting range, systematically. The members of the Eclaron club were asked to welcome, provide catering, set up the shooters and referee. The site of the Jardin d’Arc welcomed five camper vans while the other shooters set up tents and arbours on the lawn just ten metres from the Jardin d’Arc.

“It’s really friendly,” said Jacky Soudant.

Chili con carne on Saturday evening, or 55 meals, and grilled meats on Sunday lunchtime were offered by the association. And symbolically, it was the chief magistrate, Jean-Yves Marin, who gave the starting signal for the challenge on Saturday, at exactly 3 p.m.

  • Tents and gazebos have been set up on the lawn.
