In her first match she beat local player Lyric Su by 21-16 and 21-17, certifying her qualification for the final draw. Pablo Abián, who makes his debut this Wednesday, is also in this round.
It was not the most comfortable match for the Spaniard, as the young Canadian player tried to take the initiative from the start. In fact, she took the lead in the early stages of the match. However, Setién was quick to take control, with a 6-0 run that allowed him to take the lead (12-8) and get on track in the first game.
Lyric Su regained control at the start of the second game and managed to stay ahead for much of it. But once again, when the San Sebastian native was four points down (15-11), she scored another six consecutive points to take the lead and finished the match without hesitation.
