Sports Training and Nutritious Cooking Workshops Held in Ushuaia and Río Grande

During the weekend, a Newcom training course was held in the city of Río Grande. It was organized by the Kayú Club together with the Fuegian Volleyball Federation with the sponsorship of the Provincial Sports Secretariat.

The lecture was given by Professor Diego Ruiz, from the city of Buenos Aires, who provided theoretical and practical training on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in order to train future Newcom coaches.

Newcom, which has rules similar to volleyball, is increasingly popular among people over 60 and middle-aged people. The sport was created in the United States by Clara Gregory Baer in 1895.

Nutritious cooking workshop for athletes

Last Friday, two cooking workshops were held at the Casa del Deporte Ushuaia. The activity was led by Sofia González and was attended by athletes from the disciplines of Judo, Volleyball, Rugby, Athletics PCD and Athletics who regularly attend CEPAR.

This is one of the activities that is carried out periodically by the nutrition department with the aim of teaching boys and girls to make simple preparations that replace ultra-processed elements. The objective is for them to be able to replicate cooking techniques for their breakfasts, snacks or snacks, while at the same time integrating knowledge about sports nutrition.

The preparations were selected from a recipe book prepared by CEPAR nutritionists and in this case consisted of cereal bars, cookies, pancakes, mug cakes and healthy puddings. At the end of the workshop, the different products were shared.
