(JTH) June 2024 – Since the end of May, the STOAG elite athlete bus has been traveling around the city with the Holten Judo Team as the team of the year 2023.
A newly designed STOAG bus, decorated with life-size photos of the successful athletes of 2023 under the motto “This is what winners look like”, has been traveling around the city since the end of May. This special advertisement for Oberhausen’s top-class sport will be provided free of charge by STOAG for at least one to two years.

You can see the Judo Team Holten as team of the year 2023, Caroline Heuser, canoe women’s juniors, vice world champion in the four-person kayak over 500 meters and vice European champion over 200 meters, as well as Joshua Abuaku, hurdler, German champion and finalist at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
Making role models visible
Judo Team Holten press officer Alexandra Hagenguth: “It is so important to make role models visible. Everyone who supports top-level sport in Oberhausen always supports the grassroots and that is our children, our youth.”

Clubs can offer orientation and structure, friendship, solidarity and strengthen young people when so much in this world has become uncertain: “Make the children strong and you strengthen our democratic society.”
