Aydın Kükner, the Bartın Basketball Representative of the Turkish Basketball Federation, stated that despite the disadvantages of being a small province, they have successfully completed many organizations in basketball this season. Stating that the clubs have equipment problems, Kükner gave important messages in his statement:

We left a difficult year behind successfully. Evaluating the 2023-2024 year, Basketball Provincial Representative Aydın Kükner said the following:
This year, we hosted the Turkish Basketball Federation Junior Men’s Regional Championship and the School Sports 3×3 Regional Champions. We hosted 400 athletes from outside the province in these two organizations. In this sense, I think we made a significant contribution to the promotion of our province in terms of tourism and its economy. Bartın Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate and our Basket Provincial Representative were given a certificate of achievement by the Turkish Basketball Federation for the necessary effort and endeavor to be successful in these organizations.
We had financial difficulties. Since the necessary financial means could not be provided, our provincial champions had difficulty going to the regional championship. Our clubs experienced serious difficulties in sports equipment.
Despite these difficulties, we contributed to the development of sports with the Turkish Basketball Federation Local Leagues U-12 U-14 U-16 U-18 U-10 and U-11 Mini Festival. 5 organizations in school sports, and 6 separate organizations as 3×3 Big, Youth, Stars. We increased the number of licensed athletes and the number of matches played by twenty percent. We increased the number of our provincial and national classification referees. This season, 2 of our referees will manage the competitions in the Turkish Basketball Leagues. Although we are a small province, we are the only province in this region that organizes these leagues.
Our primary goal is to instill the love of basketball in our children and to contribute to their healthy development. I am a person who always believes in small touches in life. Seeing that positive energy and the sparkle in the eyes of our little girls and boys who play in the youth teams has affected me a lot. I think I am lucky that we can provide them with the opportunity to do sports in these organizations. There are many talented basketball players in Bartın. The biggest misfortune of these children is that there is no role model club in the upper leagues in Bartın, and their dreams are slipping away.
