There are 127 licenses this year at the L’Aigle badminton club (Orne).

The figure is the same as the previous season, making it the third Orne club but the first to operate solely on volunteers.

Young people represented 56% of licensees, 26 in leisure and 45 in competitive slots.

Good results over the past year

Sporting level, satisfaction in adult interclubs.

The first team finished 3rd, the second team second and the all-men’s team was champion of Orne.

For next season, we will have to find new players because it will be more difficult to count on the young players who were in their final year this year.

In the adult individual category, we noted some good results with Benjamin Robet, Nolan Garnier, Pauline Barré and the pair Aurélien Hurel – Bryan Letailleur.

Among the youngsters, we of course find in the foreground the two first-year juniors Raphaël Elie and Mahé Viau.

They shone at the regional and inter-regional level with, as the cherry on the cake, a first participation as a duo in the French championships.

In the Orne competitions, we also note a large number of podiums, mainly Ambre Hénon, Jules Delarue, Théo Guillotin, Nolan Garnier and Alix Régnard.

Regarding supervision, the coaches reported the difficulty in managing levels ranging from departmental to national and the human deficit in support for all competitions on the calendar.

No price increase at the start of the school year

Financially, the balance sheet shows a tiny deficit for the past season (€96 compared to €1,019 for 2022-2023).

As every year, the flying budget occupies first place with approximately 45% of operating expenses.

In terms of revenue, the Eagles Tournament confirmed its sporting and therefore financial success with a gain of almost €2,500.

Given the club’s very healthy situation, no change in license fees has been proposed.

Similarly, no changes have been made regarding the slots and their different audiences.

New events coming soon

The Eagles Tournament has been scheduled as usual for the middle weekend of the All Saints’ Day holidays, while the back-to-school training course for young people and adults will be held on August 31 and September 1.

The only shadow on the horizon during this meeting concerned the situation of Codep 61.

This one is in difficulty at the level of its management team.

After a first AGM cancelled due to lack of quorum, “it is imperative to find a certain number of good volunteers to replace those leaving and keep it alive”, warns the Aiglon club…

Indeed, the future of the various competitions organized by it depends on this.
