Opening of the French championships for the club with field shooting in Saint-Pierre de Chartreuse in Isère on July 10 and 11. For this 2024 edition, all registered archers had the chance to shoot in an exceptional location with two courses of 24 targets. Under capricious weather and surrounded by a magnificent landscape, two archers from the club participated. Fabien Bosset finished in 10th place with 23 archers entered in the S2 recurve bow category and Martial Taulemesse won a beautiful bronze medal in the S1 recurve bow category with 17 archers entered and thus confirmed his 2023 medal.

Then direction Saint-Avertin in Indre-et-Loire where the French outdoor archery championship took place with seven archers from the club from July 12 to 14. It was in an unrivaled team spirit that our archers competed, supported and encouraged each other.

In the S2 category for men’s classic bow at 50m, Fabien Bosset finished in 51st place.

In the S1 men’s classic bow category at 70m, Kevin Desvignes finished in 56th place and Martial Taulemesse in 25th place.

In the S2 category, men’s recurve bow at 70m, 82 archers entered, Grégory Lanfumey, for his first participation in the French championship, finished in 48th place. Eddy Nunes ranked 4th after the qualifications and can thus reach the round of 16. He finished in 9th place after the matches.

In the S1 women’s classic bow category at 70m, Laetitia Balthazard came in 19th place.

In the S2 women’s classic bow category at 70m, Sylvie Rave climbed onto the podium and won a very nice bronze medal. 27 archers were entered for this competition.

On July 15 and 16, it was the turn of the youngsters with Emmy Rebet and Hugo Bergantini, still in Saint-Avertin, who took part in the individual French championship but also in mixed doubles. Emmy, in the U21 recurve bow category, finished in 12th place and qualified for the 1/6th finals (14 qualified). She lost in the quarter-finals after a close match and finished in 6th place. Hugo, in the U18 recurve bow category, finished in 47th place. Following the individual qualifications, the youngsters took part in the mixed doubles competition. They gave the top-ranked players a scare but ultimately lost 5 to 3 and finished in 9th place. A very good match given the weather conditions.
