More than 400 people and 180 judokas met on Saturday, June 22 at the La Réole gymnasium to close a very rich season. The four partner clubs of the alliance (Auros, Bieujac/Castets, Saint-Macaire and La Réole) met for a grand final party masterfully prepared by all the offices.
This very close-knit team of volunteers had concocted a friendly day around belt presentations, a wine of honor and a very appreciated meal. Sportingly, each young person was honored with a new belt. Four new black belts were added to the many others, a 2nd dan and two 3rd dan in the person of Paco Diaz and Jérôme Roche. The “Awazu” medal, a national distinction, was awarded to Olivier Renaux, technical director of the EJR of La Réole, while a warm tribute was given to Franck Alric who is leaving for the club of La Couronne for personal reasons. Another distinction was awarded to Jérôme Roche, teacher in Auros. Not forgetting the ovation to the two new teachers, Jessica who has just obtained her professional diploma and Benjamin his federal diploma.
The four partner clubs are finishing this season with notable results at local, departmental, regional and national levels. This project to bring together clubs across the South Gironde region is currently making sense, allowing judokas to share the same values and, above all, to come together around sporting or friendly moments. The sports section in La Réole is taking off, offering middle school students a truly sporting project, and high school students a project focused on refereeing and recreational judo with a view to the baccalaureate option. Young judokas can now register for this section from year 6 to year 12.
