Having very limited room for maneuver in this 2024 Free Agency, the Suns are trying to strengthen their roster as best they can, particularly in the racket. They just signed veteran center Mason Plumlee.
The former Hornets and Clippers player is arriving for one season in Phoenix, according to Adrian Wojnarowski ofESPN. Plumlee’s salary has not been communicated but we are undoubtedly assuming a veteran minimum.
OH YEAH WHAT AN EARTHQUAKE IN PHOENIX

Plumlee is coming off his least productive season in his career with stats of 5.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists with the Clippers (46 games including 11 as a starter, less than 15 minutes on average). Nevertheless, for a minimum salary and in a backup center role, the signing is not uninteresting for the Suns.
The goal of the latter is indeed to add a little depth behind Jusuf Nurkic on the pivot position. We recall that Drew Eubanks recently declined his player option with Phoenix, and that there was a real need in the racket.

Mason Plumlee who will therefore be able to ask advice on the city of Phoenix from his brother Miles, former legend of the franchise.
More seriously, intrigued by Plumdog under Budenholzer’s orders. On a misunderstanding… it can work.

According to @The_BBall_Indexno one contested more shots at the rim last year than Mason Plumlee on a per-75-possessions basis. Held opponents to 6.2% worse shooting at the rim, good passer as well
