Maxime Grousset wants to follow the example of Léon Marchand. The swimmer from New Caledonia, multiple world medalist, begins his games in the 100m freestyle. With competitors like David Popovici or Kyle Chalmers, the competition will be tough but the Frenchman is a real contender for the title. Fifth in the qualifications without forcing, rider Anthony Jeanjean, world number one, qualified Tuesday for the final of the BMX Freestyle event of the Paris Olympic Games at La Concorde. The Lebrun brothers to continue dreaming
Men’s singles table tennis 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., Arena Paris Sud
The two French ping-pong phenomena continue their individual competition. Felix Lebrun (17 years old) will be the first to show up at the Arena Paris Sud where he will face the German Dimitrij Ovtcharov. His big brother Alexis Lebrun (20 years old) will face the Brazilian Hugo Calderano in the 8th finals. Steve Kerr (the American coach) and his constellation of stars (Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry) will probably continue to put on a show in a stadium that is boiling.

Anastasia Kirpichnikova in search of a medal
Swimming 1500 freestyle women 10:31 p.m., Arena Paris La Défense
The Frenchwoman of Russian origin, Anastasiia Kirpichnikova, naturalized in 2023, qualified for the final of the 1,500 m freestyle with the third best time of the semi-finals. A time that places the French swimmer among the favorites of this final. Facing the American legend Katie Ledecky and the Italian Simona Quadarella, nothing will be easy but the swimmer trained by Philipe Lucas has everything to create the feat.

Hervé Renard’s Blues challenge New Zealand
Women’s football 9 p.m., Groupama Stadium in Lyon
After a first match won in difficulty against Canada (3-2), Hervé Renard’s Bleues lost against Canada on Sunday evening (2-1). For its second appearance at the Olympic Games, after its introduction at the Tokyo Games in 2021, 3×3 Basketball will be held on the magnificent La Concorde site. In splendid conditions, the French will play their second matches this Wednesday evening. After losing their first match against China (21-19), the women will first face New Zealand before the men, winners of Poland (21-19) for their entry, challenge Lithuania.
