He larks continues to take steps to configure the squad for the 2024/25 season. The Cangas club announced yesterday the signing of two new players: the midfielder Diego Dizwho already played for the Cangas discipline, and the Centre forward Fran López, trained in the Celta de Vigo youth academy. Both come to reinforce the offensive part of Gonzalo Fernández “Gonza”’s team and with their arrival the Cangas entity already has 14 players.
Diego Diz was already part of Alondras in the 2015/16 season, in which he played 27 games and scored two goals. After that year the midfielder played three consecutive seasons at Rápido de Bouzas –two of them in the Second Division B– and then signed for Arosa, with whom he played in the new Second RFEF in the 2021/22 campaign. At the end of that year he returned to Rápido de Bouzas, now in the Third Federation, and in the last two seasons he reached thirty matches, scoring two and four goals respectively.

For his part, Fran López comes from the Prolific Celta de Vigo youth academy and he is a 22-year-old center forward, so he will be one of the U23 players of the new Alondras. The striker went through practically all of Celta’s categories, and was called up to five matches with the first team in the 2022/23 season (although he never made his debut). He was able to make his debut with Celta’s first team under Chacho Coudet in August 2022 at the Quinocho Memorial, which ended with a Celta thrashing of the Saudi team Al-Shabab. A match in which he could even have made a assistance to Iago AspasThat season he played again with Gran Peña-Celta C and last year he played loaned to Compostela, where he did not enjoy continuityIn the final stretch of the season he decided to try his luck at Pontevedra B, in the Third RFEF, and even scored a goal against his new team in the penultimate league match.
From Alondras they have a lot of confidence in the potential and quality of the young center forward, who they hope will recover his Goal-scoring instinct and his best version in the O Morrazo field under the orders of Gonza.

The coach referred to the arrival of his two new pupils, of whom he highlights that they are footballers who adapt perfectly to Alondra’s style of plays. “Diz is a midfielder who can play in the inside positions, both as an inside midfielder and as an attacking midfielder. He has a lot of attacking ability and is a goal-scorer,” analyses Gonza. The coach particularly emphasises his good ball striking, the criteria when moving the ball and his experience“He is a player who will bring us a lot, both on and off the field,” he said.
Regarding Fran López, he highlights that he is a player “very complete, capable of playing with his back to goal and giving continuity to the game”. But above all he stands out that he is a finisher and that has “a lot of goals”as he demonstrated in the Celta youth ranks. “He comes with a great desire to help and contribute,” adds Gonza.
With the arrival of Diego Diz and Fran López, Alondras now has a total of 14 players. The club chaired by Rafa Outeiral still has to finalize the arrival of a goalkeeper, a playmaker, a midfielder, a versatile winger and another footballer depending on the team’s needs. The Alondras squad for the 2024/25 season would be completed by midfielder Pablo Salgueiro, who missed practically the entire last season due to a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The club has the player, who is expected to be recovered for the start of the new campaign, and would be the 20th member of the Alondras squad.
