The Embassy Sport Premium by GIOYA is now a reality. This week, this new project led by José Manuel Calderón and Berni Rodríguez was presented at the Training Center Fuengirola-Higuerón. It is a higher education initiative in sports and business leadership designed in conjunction with the GIOYA Higher Education Institution. As José Manuel Calderón stated during the presentation, “The Embassy Sport Premium was born thanks to the desire to help athletes in the final stretch of their careers to continue training in different social spheres. Doing so with two entities such as GIOYA and the United Nations is a privilege for us,” as well as emphasizing that “we know that there is a great need for studies when reaching the final part of the career of professionals, who are looking for specific training to continue developing once they leave sport.”
The former player and World Champion were joined by Francesco Cappe, Chairman of the Board and CEO of GIOYA, and Julio Andrade, Deputy Director of the UN CIFAL Global Network, who said that “it is a luxury to be able to develop this project in Fuengirola and at The Embassy. We are handling the educational part and José Manuel Calderón and Berni Rodríguez will be in charge of the sports branch with all the experience they have behind them. We want to turn The Embassy into a university and training place.”
The city of Fuengirola and the surrounding area of Higuerón, with its first-class hotel facility – Higuerón Málaga Hilton – provide an ideal atmosphere for this innovative boutique university concept. GIOYA is a boutique Higher Education Institution whose mission is to recognise life and professional experiences in European academic credits by integrating competencies and skills based on personal needs and societal trends. It has allies such as the “Shanghai University of Political Science and Law” and the “University for Peace” of the United Nations among other prestigious institutions. GIOYA courses have limited places with the intention of creating a qualified network of contacts. Current students are international managers, entrepreneurs and highly qualified professionals.
