The Multi-Faceted Life of Peter Althof: From Martial Arts to Hollywood

A real self-made man, athlete, bodyguard, family man and actor: Peter Althof can look back on a long career. The Nuremberg native started out as a plumber. Then he swapped his pipe wrench for a comb and scissors and became a hairdresser.

Martial arts – school for life

He turned to martial arts when he was still at school and says: “I’ve always done martial arts, judo, take won do, kickboxing, boxing, outside of school. That’s how my childhood was.” His father also boxed and supported his son in his ambitions. “He was my best friend, was totally committed to me. He filmed the fights on video,” says Peter Althof, who made it into the top ten in martial arts. During his time in the military, he received close combat training and made a career in sports.

Celebrities up close – as bodyguards

What was more obvious than to use this professionally and set up a personal protection company. Since then, he has looked after many celebrities and industrialists, including the German national team, Henry Maske, Michael Schumacher, Tiger Woods, the Scorpions, Michael Jackson and Nino de Angelo.

Even setbacks in Althof’s life

But Peter Althof has also had to deal with deep changes in his life, such as the suicide of his father, who was seriously ill with shingles, or the loss of his license after a conviction. But, just like in sport, he fought his way back to the top.

“Male Man” Skin

As an actor, he has already made three of his own films under the title “Macho Man” 1-3, “with a high trash factor”. No. 3 will be released in 2024. His good friend, the former world-class boxer René Weller, who died in 2023, also starred in it.
