The Tani Vili imbroglio who will not join La Rochelle

In a press release published on Tuesday, Union Bordeaux-Bègles made official the list of players who will leave this summer. This notably concerns hooker Clément Maynadier and South African second-row Jandre Marais who are retiring, but also Georgian pillar Lekso Kaulashvili, second-row Thomas Jolmès (Pau), third-row Antoine Miquel and Australian fly-half Zack Holmes (Oyonnax) as well as wingers Madosh Tambwe and Maël Moustin (Montpellier) and Australian second-row Kane Douglas who, according to our information, should join La Rochelle. But that’s not all.

The unfortunate Top 14 finalist also indicated that center Tani Vili, under contract until 2025, would also join Stade Rochelais. “Arriving at the club in 2022 after some great performances in France U20, Tani Vili played 27 matches for us. Thank you Tani, and lots of success in La Rochelle.” However, according to our information, this will not be the case. A source close to the case firmly denied his signing with Marcel-Deflandre.
