Thomas Bryant Signs One-Year Deal with Miami Heat, Expected to Replace Bam Adebayo at Center

Marc Stein just reported that Thomas Bryant has signed with the Miami Heat for one year. The center declined his player option on June 29th for $2.85 million and has reached an agreement with the franchise to increase that salary next season. This has been Bryant’s first season with the South Florida team, where he will return as the main replacement for Bam Adebayo at the five position.

Bryant’s presence on the team has been intermittent throughout the season, playing just 38 games in which he averaged just over 11 minutes. His most memorable moment last season, in fact, was his brawl with José Alvarado in a game in which he did not play a single minute. And, due to his suspension, he experienced a strange surrender of the championship ring he won with the Denver Nuggets the previous season.

His numbers were 5.7 points and 3.7 rebounds.
