Tom Brady Reflects on Getting “Too Serious” in Career as Seven-Time Super Bowl Winner

The seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback admitted he got “too serious” toward the end of his career

Tom Bradyconsidered the best player in the history of the NFLacknowledged that despite the seven editions of the Super Bowl that he won, running and having fun stopped being characteristics in his game because he became “too serious.”

“When I see these young players, I see Patrick Mahomes as a quarterback, running around, having fun, and I’m like, ‘I used to be like that. What the hell happened to me? ‘ he asked himself during an edition of the podcast ‘The Pivot’, with Ryan Clark.

“I just got too serious,” he stressed.

Bradyborn 46 years ago in San Mateo, California, played 23 years in the league: 20 with the New England Patriotswith which he obtained six championship rings, and three with Tampa Bay Buccaneersa franchise with which he won another.

“I can only look back and think: OK, if I do it again it would be different, but that will never happen again. Even if I think it would be different, the reality is that it can’t be. So you just learn from it and think: OK, in the next stage of life, I’ll enjoy it a bit more,” he reflected.

Tom Brady withdrew from the NFL in February 2023.
