Tomás Belmonte is ready to “enjoy” Boca | He was introduced by Juan Román Riquelme

Midfielder Tomás Belmonte was presented as a new Boca player. The operation with Toluca of Mexico was carried out for four million dollars in exchange for half of the transfer fee.

After sealing his contract until December 2028 in the company of Marcelo “Chelo” Delgado, a member of the Football Council, it was president Juan Román Riquelme who introduced the 26-year-old former Lanús player: “They told me that your old man was excited, so for us it’s very nice. I hope you can enjoy it a lot and I hope you bring us lots of joy.”

After the words of the Boca president, Belmonte took the floor and said: “My family was excited that I was returning to the country. I am grateful to the leadership for seeking me out and giving me support. The demands cannot be lacking. We have a lot of responsibility. I am at a very good age for my career. I feel very good and eager to start tomorrow, to give my best for the team.”

“Wearing the Boca jersey is a great pride. I played with Lanús and the fans feel it a lot. It’s a great pride. When I was in Lanús there was also a very interesting approach. Now that I came to Toluca, it happened just right and I’m very happy that a club like Boca is interested in me. I’m going to give my best, continue working with humility and try to contribute the best for the team,” added Belmonte, who will wear the number 30 jersey.

Meanwhile, Boca are very close to finalising the arrival of winger Brian Aguirre from Newell’s. The 21-year-old is expected to sign this week and the transfer would be for five million dollars in exchange for 80% of the player’s salary.

He will be Boca’s third signing, as in addition to Belmonte, the Chilean Gary Medel had already arrived.
