Heidenheim is considered one of the most prominent teams that will set up its training camp in South Tyrol this summer. The Bundesliga club has now arrived.

The Natz air did 1. FC Heidenheim good last year. That’s why Frank Schmidt’s team, who has been in office for almost 17 years (!), is coming back to the Eisack Valley before its second Bundesliga season. Heidenheim has a mammoth program ahead of them this year, because the red and blues qualified for the Conference League (i.e. for international competition) by finishing 8th in their first season in the top German league.

The Heidenheim team arrived in Germany on Wednesday evening. On Saturday (3.30 p.m.) a friendly match against a regional Natz-Schabs selection is scheduled. The most famous player in the Bundesliga team’s squad is set-piece specialist Jan-Niklas Beste. Heidenheim also recently loaned Bayern Munich’s offensive gem Paul Wanner.

What else is happening on South Tyrol’s football pitches? The first professional club arrived on Monday – namely SpvGG Unterhaching. The Munich suburban club, which plays in the 3rd league, is training in Schlanders for the 10th year in a row. This year, the Hachingers can look forward to a freshly renovated pitch on the Vinschgau sports facility.

The biggest professional club coming to South Tyrol this summer is FC Bologna with Italy’s European Championship star Riccardo Calafiori. The Champions League participant will set up camp here at the end of July and will also play a friendly against FC South Tyrol (SportNews reported).
