Transfer window: Bradley Danger, Rodez captain, approaches Red Star

Red Star resumed training on Tuesday with just one new recruit, midfielder Samuel Renel (ex-Niort). But by the time they leave for the La Baule training camp on January 14, three more reinforcements were expected by the staff and sports director Reda Hammache.

According to our information, the first should be Bradley Danger, 26-year-old central defender and captain of Rodez, 4th in L2 and play-off player (0-2 against Saint-Étienne after eliminating Paris FC) last May. If a few details still need to be sorted out to finalize the operation, it seems well underway.

This would be a nice move for Red Star. The former international in all youth categories (winner of the Euro U17 in 2015) trained in Le Havre and who discovered L2 with Chambly in 2020-2021 has indeed established himself as a sure bet at this level. He has 140 matches and 14 goals in L2. In three seasons at Rodez, he has only missed six matches. A leader in the locker room and on the pitch, he is also very efficient on set pieces (6 goals this season).

“He has created a leadership position for himself in the locker room, thanks to his calm, his authenticity and his frankness”

Bradley Danger had not been able to reach an agreement with Rodez to extend his contract. The Aveyron club had welcomed his departure in a very complimentary statement, a sign of the importance he had internally.

“An important player in sport and human terms, his charisma and Olympian calm allowed him to wear the armband during this 23-24 season. As a true accomplishment, our captain proudly fulfilled his missions this season. With unwavering composure, Bradley Danger is a hard-working, serious player who listens to his teammates. He has created a leadership position for himself in the locker room, thanks to his calm, authenticity and frankness,” wrote Rodez.
