Turkish National Men’s Basketball Team Withdraws from Serbia Tournament Due to Injuries

The National Men’s Basketball Team decided not to participate in the preparation tournament planned to be held in Serbia on July 6-7 due to the high number of injured players.

In a statement made by the Turkish Basketball Federation, it was stated that “The camp process, which we started the summer with a limited squad, continued with the injuries experienced by our Men’s National Team and two more of our players being injured in the dual contact match we played in France with an 11-person squad, following the recurring injuries. During this process, it was decided that our Crescent-Stars would not participate in the preparation tournament to be held in Serbia in order not to risk the matches we will play away due to the insufficient squad. Our national team’s preparations for the FIBA 2025 European Championship Qualifiers will continue in November. It is respectfully announced to the public.”

The Crescent-Stars defeated the Philippines 84-73 in the friendly matches they played, but lost to France 96-46.
